“To whom it may concern: A belated and sonorous register” by Anike Joyce Sadiq and Sinethemba Twalo

Curated by Justin Randolph Thompson e Janine Gaelle

THE EXHIBITION:

As part of the III Edition of Black History Month Florence BHMF in collaboration with SRISA and Radio PApesse presents To whom it may concern: A belated and sonorous register by Anike Joyce Sadiq and Sinethermba Twalo for the SRISA Gallery. The artist duo navigates the ethereal realm of sound and presence in this site specific work that resonates as a soulful smokescreen materialized through two turntables and some hijacked AV equipment. Evading artistic and social characterization a one night action infuses the space with tangible notes of performativity and ruptured viewer passivity. Blackness as a trope is sampled and spun in a hyper-cultural mashup dragged to a scratched stop.
