“The Lizard’s Tail (Stay Behind)” by Eva Sauer

THE EXHIBITION:

SRISA Gallery is pleased to present the new exhibition by Italian-German artist Eva Sauer The Lizard’s Tail (Stay Behind). The new installation project, with photography, sculpture and research work, analyzes the complex dynamics of power and media control in the relationship between the State, citizens and democracy through a comparison/metaphor with the lizard. The reptile, when it has no escape from its predator, gives up its tail, knowing that a new one will be born later. Like the tail, the agents of a state like Italy who have committed “mistakes” or who have expressed doubts about their actions have been “left behind” and sometimes eliminated.
